"Sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, and waffles, just to name a few of our breakfast favorites. We are both huge fans of breakfast food and we tend to eat a lot so that our tummies are fueled up until lunchtime. Hence, the idea of brunch is nothing but genius for us. Being our food-loving selves, we are always in the hunt for something new to try. We have been hearing about this great brunch place in Marikina from our friends ever since we were based abroad. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to try it out, even when we came back home a few years back, just because it is far from where we reside. Fortunately, this famous brunch place has an on-going collaboration with Flavors Restaurant at Holiday Inn and Suites in Makati City. Will we let this opportunity pass? Of course not! In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing about a glimpse of Rustic Mornings that is closer to us, made possible by Holiday Inn and Suites. Rustic Mornings and Flavors Sunday Brunch!
Ms.Portia Baluyut, the executive chef/owner of Rustic Mornings, was tapped by Holiday Inn and Suites to be their guest chef for this month.Having the hotel’s fun and relaxing vibe, and the amazing spread from Rustic Mornings plus other delectable dishes from Flavors Restaurant, this Limited-Time-Only Sunday Brunch at Php 1,900 nett per person will surely make family time worth it. This started last May 6, and will take place all Sundays of May, diners may avail of this brunch from 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. Inclusive of sparkling wine, white and red wine from Philippine Wine Merchants.
Delicious Food from Rustic Mornings and Waffable!
Waffable is the newest addition to Chef Portia’s creations. And luckily, it has its own station in the buffet spread. They have their best-selling Churro Waffable with bananas, butter cream and Yema fudge. The Brownie-brittle Waffable, with brownie waffle, butter cream and Yema fudge. And their Classic Waffable with butter cream, Blueberry compote and Monkey butter.
To make dining more fun, in the pancake and waffle station, diners can create and choose their own toppings.
Rustic Mornings’ pancakes are soft, moist and fluffy. Perfect with any topping of choice. As for the waffables, our favorite was the Brownie-brittle waffable. We easily had 3 servings of this rich, moist and chocolat-y waffle. Something that we would love to have again!
Of course, a perfect pair for either a piece of pancake or waffle, is this crispy and juicy bacon!
Aside from their pancakes and waffles, they also have savory dishes that is included in the spread as well. Their Curry Kofta Balls and Pinoy Burrito made with garlic fried rice and tinapa flakes, deep fried with cream sauce. Other brunch highlights are the French Toast Bake with Berry Cream, Acai and Smoothie Bowls, and Open-faced omelet and toasts. Aside from the Brownie-brittle Waffable, we instantly fell in love with the light yet flavorful Curry Kofta Balls, and the filling Pinoy Burrito.
Flavors Restaurant Favorites!
Flavors Restaurant still has their fresh seafood spread that can be cooked to your own liking.
And in the carving station, they have the succulent pair of Lechon Belly and Angus Beef Rump. That we devoured and indulged in, because these tender and juicy meats were really hard to resist in brunch like this!
The dessert station is a must-try as well. Flavors Restaurant’s pastries, cakes and other dessert offerings are delectable and mouthwatering.
We are really happy that we were already able to try one of the best brunch places in town, thanks to the collaboration of Rustic Mornings and Flavors Restaurant! This once in a lifetime EATSperience is a must-try, especially for those who have not tried both restaurants’ food yet.
